The BTC.com wallet is multi-platform so once you have made your account, you can log into and transact on any device of your choice. The steps in the tutorial below are identical for web and mobile app users.
Based on the platform you chose (web or app), you are going see the sign up page. The registration form is either the opening screen after you open the app or on the top of the home page at wallet.btc.com. The following tutorial will show you how to create a web wallet: https://youtu.be/4SVZMmuKhBM
Create account
Choose an email address where you can enable two-factor-authentication for higher security (e.g. Gmail).
Make sure that your email address is not on the list of known compromised accounts and if yes, consider to update your email password.
Think of a password that you have not used before on other websites and that’s very hard to guess but you can remember it. Use special characters, upper case - lower case, numbers etc. Next, confirm your password. Your wallet will now be created in just a few seconds.
Download your wallet backup
This is a very important step. The BTC.com wallet does not hold your Bitcoin/Bitcoin Cash because it’s a non-custodial wallet. This means that the private keys are created on each users device.
It means that you generate private keys in the form of a backup sheet that contains the seed to all your private keys.
Private keys are used to sign transactions that you want to send from your wallet. Anybody who can access this backup file can move your Bitcoin out of your wallet. Therefore you MUST keep it secret and safe.
